Debut Gig for Kristin Mooney & Claire Holley’s New Project!
For a couple years in the early oughts I DJ’d in the lobby at The Standard Hotel–until they fired me for playing entire sets of cheezy vintage easy listening music.
In any case, it’ll be wonderful to return on 12/12/12, this time playing a set of Wisely songs for the “Desert Nights” series that goes down every Wednesday just off the front lobby of the Hotel. Admission is free. You can listen to the show pool side!
I’ll be performing with long-time collaborator (and producer of my She and Turbosherbet albums) John Fields on bass, and special guest Nelson Bragg on percussion. You’ve certainly seen Nelson recently, being the go to man for Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys reunion tours!
Very special guests (and dear friends and tennis partners) Kristin Mooney and Claire Holley will debut their new collaboration Powdercoat. Can’t wait for that. It’ll be beautiful!
What is Desert Nights?
Desert Nights is a weekly gathering at The Standard, Hollywood, hosted by KCRW’s DJ Valida. Every Wednesday, Valida curates three acoustic musical acts to perform a set in the Cactus Lounge. The vibe is warm and intimate, evoking an impromptu jam in a musician’s living room. The music begins at 7:30pm, it’s always free and always a good time. Guaranteed.
